Shochikubai Karakusa
Growth, prosperity, longevity, virtue
An arabesque pattern representing growth and prosperity. The beautiful curving lines of the arabesque style, with undulating, swirling, intertwining, and interlacing vines and ivy, developed into a variety of patterned forms. This pattern is typically Japanese in its use of pines to represent longevity, bamboo for prosperity, and plum for virtue.
