The Heisei Reiwa no Hyakumonyo Project(woodblock publicized in March 2018)

Bountiful harvests, successful harvests, peace and tranquility, removing evil spirits

This pattern was created in collaboration with Kyoto Distillery Ki no Bi.
Kira Karacho supervised the design of the pattern for the internationally acclaimed Kyoto gin distillery Ki no Bi, which has, among other achievements, won the highest award at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC). The pattern was printed with the first woodblock to be carved in our Heisei line and appears on the Ki no Tea bottles from the Ki no Bi series. Bringing together motifs of tea leaves, juniper berries (which are a main ingredient of gin), and yuzu citrus in a circular shape, the pattern invites peace and fruitfulness while warding off evil spirits, expressing our desire to soften the edges of the world to make it a rounder, better place.
