Yogo (Auspicious Crane and Sacred Tortoise)

Stronger than wishes— 
a deeper prayer, 
awaiting the eventual descent of the divine.

“Yogo” is a work expressing the anticipation of a sacred presence yet to arrive. 
Within the composition emerge the forms of the auspicious crane and the sacred tortoise, 
quietly appearing from within the surface.

Clouds are drawn across layers of gold-based Shifuku-zuri, 
over which pine motifs are repeatedly printed.

Created with prayers for abundance and prosperity, 
this work carries the quiet presence of a world awaiting the arrival of the divine.
