The Heisei Reiwa no Hyakumonyo Project（woodblock publicized in July 2019）

Bountiful harvests, peace and tranquility

The pattern was created in collaboration with Park Hyatt Kyoto, a luxury guesthouse that opened in Kyoto in 2019. This pattern was created to express gratitude for the bountiful harvests of the four seasons in Kyoto and to express the hope that this bounty would create connections between Park Hyatt Kyoto and its guests. We proposed the concept and the round crest, and the design was born, marking the first time in Karacho’s history to have a woodblock based on a food theme. The pattern follows a seasonal menu, using motifs of bamboo shoots for spring, sweetfish for summer, chestnuts for autumn, and turnips for winter.
