Born in Tokyo in 1942 and graduated from the Kyoto Institute of Technology.
Inherited the family business following five years working at a trading company and six years of training at Karacho.
Also engaged in the restoration of karakami in Katsura Imperial Villa, Nijo Castle, and other notable projects.

2022　Handed the family business over to Senda Aiko, her eldest daughter

1994　Awarded with the Japan Arts Foundation’s Promotion of Traditional Japanese Culture Prize
1999　Certified as a holder of a Nationally Selected Conservation Technique
2012　Received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays
